A gunman opened fired killing 6 people and injured several others before turning the gun on himself.
The shooter was a 37-year-old man and his ex-wife or girlfriend who police believe were involved in a domestic violence situation that spilled into the office of Emcore Corporation in Albuquerque, New Mexico, CNN reports.
Police say the shooter was a former Emcore employee and the incident was a domestic violence workplace shooting.
The girlfriend or wife of the shooter was a current employee. The shooter is reported to have two children who were taken into custody.
About 85 Emcore employees were taken to a community center for interviews with detectives, officials said.
In general, domestic violence can take a number of forms, including:

- cyberstalking (repeated online action or email that causes substantial emotional distress).
