Medical Malpractice Suing For Pulmonary Embolism Misdiagnosis

Doctors are only human, and like us they can make mistakes. The hope is that medical errors will be benign, correctable, and won’t permanently harm patients. But not all mistakes are created equal, and some can have catastrophic consequences. Take pulmonary embolisms, or PE for example, where a blood clot or other substance blocks the pulmonary arteries in the lungs. If misdiagnosed or untreated a pulmonary embolism can be fatal. Strict New Gun Laws In Vermont Raise Age To 21

In the wake of the Parkland shooting, Vermont went from having some of the least restrictive gun control laws to some of the strictest. Last week, Governor Phil Scott signed three bills into law raising the age to buy firearms to 21, banning high-capacity magazines, and making it easier to take guns from people who pose a threat or keep them from buying guns in the first place. The AP calls it “the first significant gun ownership restrictions in state history,” and according to CBS, the new law may have already been used to prevent a suspected school shooter from acquiring a gun....

Trump Administration Moves To End H 4 Visas For Immigrant Spouses

It’s one thing to use an H-1B visa to hire skilled workers from outside the country. (And even those are harder and harder to come by.) But if those workers are married and their spouses can’t follow them to the U.S. and also work, you’re less likely to land them. And that process may get even tougher under new immigration reforms. Will Bokodes Give Barcodes The Boot

Three millimeters is about the size of an @ sign, and it’s also the size of the optical tagging technology developed by researchers at MIT—a technology that could replace the everyday barcode and much more. Bokodes refers to the light blur produced from an out-of-focus image, such as in a photograph. Turns out that heck of a lot of information can be programmed in that haze.
